UNICEF works to improve the nutrition of new-borns and young children, helping every child have the best possible start in life.

Only 13% of children are exclusively breastfed up to 6 months of age.
UNICEF is advocating for strong infant and young child feeding policies and the scale-up of proven interventions from pregnancy through the first two years of life.
These include maternal nutrition, early and exclusive breastfeeding, as well as improvement in the nutritional status of young children, those at risk of obesity and undernourished children, particularly children coming from the most vulnerable communities.
1,000 Roma families informed about positive parenting practices to improve young child hygiene, nutrition, health and development.
